Welcome to Interstellar Cartography! A story about space exploration, camaraderie, and bravery in the face of insurmountable odds.

This album came about as a result of me doing the Alphabet Superset. It started as a way to create a cohesive body of works, all performable with my main instrument, the Elektron Syntakt. And so, I restricted myself to create each song via recording live performances with no overdubs [all of which can be watched on YouTube @mistymusicstudio]. My theme would be "a cutesy OST for a video game about space exploration and camaraderie".

Along the way, I really started falling in love with the concept of this album and its story. I started writing prompts for each song, which describe the scenes that you, the heroic scientist, encounter along your journey. If you enjoy that sort of thing, I hope you'll click on the individual tracks to read the description for each scene.

Though the album is complete, in my heart I know that this project isn't truly over. My plan is to create a 30 page art book with a unique image for every scene, and include the scene description on each page. Eventually... I have to start working on the game 😅 Until then, I'll be performing these songs around Asheville so be sure to come hang out if you're local!
